First 3D ultrasound magnetic wheel mover in the US
The first 3D ultrasound magnetic wheel mover in the United States is in the Mount Sinai’s Urological Cystoscopy Suite. BK Medical has created a transrectal ultrasound probe that, while pivoting, will place ultrasound data files as they are received into a 3D cube for analysing during the procedure or back in the office for further analysis.
Prior to that, 3D ultrasound cubes were created by slowly pulling the ultrasound probes out of the rectum, which slightlyaltered the anatomy in the area of the prostate. The new BK Medical 3D magnetic wheel mover simply rotates right to left or left to right without moving the rectal or prostatic tissue creating a more accurate prostate inside of the cube.

Here are just some of the views and tools that our urologists can use to analyse the prostate ultrasound. This is a phantom (synthetic) prostate used for training.
The advantage for our urologists is the ability to analyze the patients prostate in much greater depth and detail. The software also has tools for measuring height, length and volume along with labeling, coloring, rotating, sculpting and with some external software we can create videos while touring all 3 dimensions of the prostate.
